ISPM15 accreditation for Advanced Pallet Systems

Advanced Pallet Systems Ltd are registered with the Forestry Commission and TimCon. to provide heat treatment and kiln drying process and authorised to apply the ISPM No.15 mark to timber used for wood packaging when required.

Advanced Pallet Systems Ltd has a kiln to provide this service and is audited twice a year to be authorised for the United Kingdom Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme.

With our own kiln customers can be assured that their heat treatment and kiln drying requirements are dealt with on site ensuring that the right quality product, right first time is delivered to them at the right time.

 

ISPM 15 Phytosanitary Regulations

So what is ISPM 15 ?

International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures – New international regulations relating to the control and spread of forest pests and timber diseases have recently been introduced. Many countries now require imported timber to satisfy the ISPM 15 phytosanitary regulations which are recognized by the World Trade Organization.

What are the Phytosanitary Treatments ?

Heat treatment - The wood is heat treated to 56°C for at least 30 minutes

Fumigation – Using Methyl Bromide in accordance with the approved specification.

These processes must be carried out by companies licensed under the UK Wood Packing Material Marking Programme. Approved companies are issued with a license and re-assesed every six months. In both cases the timber must be debarked prior to treatment.

Complying products produced by licensed manufacturers are stamped with a permanent mark to prove conformity. See below.

Which Countries Require an ISPM 15 Phytosanitary Certificate ?

The countries which require these measures include:
Brazil, Columbia, Canada, USA, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, India, Korea, Philippines, Switzerland, Taiwan, Chile, Nigeria and the EU (for non-EU products).
