Bubble Wrap & Foam Packaging

New Wooden Pallets

Bubble wrap and foam packaging are two of the most versatile protective materials in any packing operation. Used individually or in combination, they protect goods from impact, vibration, and surface damage during handling and transit — whether you’re shipping fragile ceramics, electronic components, or high-value retail products. APS stocks a comprehensive range to suit light-duty wrapping through to specialist anti-static applications.

Bubble Wrap — Cushioning for Impact Protection

Bubble wrap is manufactured in small (10mm) and large (25mm) bubble sizes, with larger bubbles providing greater air volume and more cushioning for heavier items. Standard bubble wrap is available in 40 micron for light goods, 55 micron for heavier or sharp-cornered items, and 75 micron heavy-duty rolls for particularly fragile products. Anti-static (pink) bubble wrap is available for electronics — the conductive film prevents electrostatic discharge (ESD) that could damage sensitive components. Self-adhesive sheets are ideal for wrap-and-stick packing lines; perforated rolls allow fast dispensing without cutting tools.

Foam — Surface Protection Without Abrasion

Foam rolls protect polished, painted, and high-gloss surfaces from scratching during packing and transit. Available in thicknesses from 1mm to 4mm, foam is ideal for glassware, metalwork, ceramics, and furniture components that require a soft, non-abrasive wrap. Thinner foam (1–1.5mm) suits delicate items where parcel dimensions matter; thicker grades (3–4mm) provide additional shock absorption for heavier pieces. Foam rolls are clean, dust-free, and won’t mark surfaces.

Using Both Together

For maximum protection, many businesses combine a foam inner wrap (for surface protection) with an outer layer of bubble wrap (for impact cushioning). This dual-layer approach is common across ceramics, glassware, and premium goods sectors, where both surface quality and structural integrity need to be preserved through the shipping journey.

FAQ

Some questions answered

Small bubble wrap (10mm bubbles) provides a finer cushioning effect, ideal for protecting smaller items. Large bubble wrap (25mm bubbles) has more air volume per bubble, delivering greater impact protection for larger, heavier items.

Foam is the better choice when surface protection is the priority — particularly for shiny, painted, or polished items where bubble wrap’s texture could leave imprints. Use bubble wrap when absorbing impact and protecting against drops is the main concern.

Anti-static bubble wrap is designed for electronics and electrical components. The pink conductive film prevents electrostatic discharge (ESD), which can damage sensitive equipment including circuit boards, hard drives, and processors.

Yes — APS stocks both as part of our protective packaging range. Ordering together alongside tape, boxes, and other supplies saves on delivery costs and simplifies your procurement.
