Heat Treated Pallets — ISPM15 Certified

ISPM15 heat-treated pallets manufactured and kiln-treated on one site in Devon — certified, stamped and delivered across the UK, in standard or bespoke sizes.

If your goods leave the UK on a wooden pallet, that pallet must be ISPM15 heat treated and stamped — or your shipment risks being stopped, treated or destroyed at the border. APS Packaging manufactures new wooden pallets and heat treats them in our own on-site kilns at Bideford, Devon, so certified export pallets come off one production line, with no third-party treatment delays.

What ISPM15 heat treatment involves

ISPM15 is the international standard for solid-wood packaging. Timber is heated until its core reaches 56°C for at least 30 minutes, killing pests and pathogens, then stamped with the internationally recognised HT mark. We are registered under the UK’s wood packaging marking programme and our kilns and marking are audited for compliance.

  • Two on-site drying kilns, each holding up to 300 pallets, running 24/7
  • Core temperature of 56°C for 30+ minutes — the ISPM15 requirement
  • Every treated pallet stamped with the certified ISPM15 GB mark
  • Treatment records kept for full traceability

Heat treatment questions

Do I need heat-treated pallets for shipping to the EU?

Yes. Since Brexit, wooden pallets and packaging moving from Great Britain to the EU must be ISPM15 compliant — the same as shipping to the rest of the world.

What does the ISPM15 stamp show?

The wheat-stamp mark shows the IPPC symbol, the country code and registration number, and the treatment code (HT for heat treatment) — proof for customs that the timber has been correctly treated.

Can bespoke pallet sizes be heat treated?

Yes — because we manufacture and treat on the same site, any pallet we make, standard or bespoke, can be supplied heat treated and stamped.

Is kiln-dried the same as heat treated?

Not necessarily — kiln drying reduces moisture, while ISPM15 heat treatment is a certified process with specific core temperature and duration requirements plus the compliance stamp. Our kilns do both.
