We run into Plymouth on the A386 over the moor, or the A30 and A38 when the load suits it. Deliveries go anywhere in the city and out to the industrial areas — Estover, Langage, Ernesettle, Faraday Mill and the Plymouth Science Park.
Everything is loaded at our Bideford factory and delivered by our own drivers. For the oversized, one-off cases Plymouth’s marine and defence engineering tends to need, that is the difference between a delivery that happens and a pallet network that refuses the booking.
Plymouth is one of the country’s major marine engineering centres. Marine components are heavy and irregular, and often corrosion-sensitive — bespoke timber crates with internal bracing, and cases that can be craned rather than forked.
Defence work brings its own packing standards, serial-numbered items and traceability. We build to drawing and to specification, and our ISO 9001 quality system covers the process.
Plymouth’s ferry links to Roscoff and Santander put mainland Europe within a day. Timber packaging crossing a border needs ISPM 15 heat treatment — we do that in our own kilns and mark under FC0542.
Medical devices, electronics and instrumentation need shock protection rather than brute strength. Shock pallets and foam-lined hybrid packaging take the vibration out of the journey.
Yes — regularly, on our own fleet from Bideford, covering Plymouth, Saltash, Plympton and Ivybridge.
Yes. Heavy and oversized is normal work for us. Send the dimensions, the weight and how it needs to be lifted, and we will design a case around it — including skid bases and lifting provision.
Solid timber packaging leaving the UK for the EU must be ISPM 15 heat-treated and marked. Plywood and processed board are exempt. If you are unsure which applies, call us — it is a short conversation and getting it wrong stops the shipment.
Yes. We collect surplus and used pallets on the same fleet that delivers, so an empty run back to Devon does not go to waste.
We also collect and recycle used & surplus pallets across Plymouth on our own fleet — find out about collection & recycling, and ask about an ongoing contract for your new pallet supply.
Our fleet also runs into Saltash, Plympton, Ivybridge, Tavistock, Torpoint and Yelverton. If you are outside Plymouth, call 01237 423772 and we will tell you straight whether you are on a route.
